SKILL GAP

The Skill Gap Nobody Talks About: Why Knowing Technology Is Not Enough

I have seen students who can write good code but struggle to explain what their code actually does.

I have also seen students with average technical skills stand out because they can think clearly, communicate confidently, solve problems, work with others, and adapt quickly.

That made me think:

Are we preparing students only to learn technology, or are we preparing them to work with technology?

In today’s world, learning Python, AI, React, Power BI, or any other technology is important.

But technology is only a tool.

The real advantage comes from knowing how to:
• Ask the right questions
• Understand the real problem
• Think critically
• Communicate ideas clearly
• Work as a team
• Adapt and keep learning

And with AI becoming part of everyday work, these skills are becoming even more important.

AI can generate an answer. But knowing whether that answer is right—that still requires human thinking.

I have shared my thoughts in my latest blog:

“The Skill Gap Nobody Talks About: Why Knowing Technology Is Not Enough”

Because the future doesn’t belong only to those who know the most technology.

It belongs to those who know how to think, learn, communicate, and adapt.
